Active Schools Week and Well-being Week

Well-being Week and Active Schools Week took place recently in our school. The aim of Active Schools Week is to provide fun and inclusive physical activity opportunities for all members of the school community. During this week we worked on our wellbeing, developing positive attitudes towards mental health in our pupils. While well-being activities are integrated into our school day throughout the year, we took some extra time to highlight the importance of wellbeing during this special week.

We didn’t let the rain stop us from getting plenty of exercise!

We worked throughout the week on many different mindfulness activities with a strong focus on the area of gratitude.

We enjoyed getting some fresh air when the weather allowed us, playing outside, walking to the sports field to cheer on our hurling team and some of us even enjoyed a trip to the playground.

One of the highlights of the week was when Rugby Coach Aiden McNulty came to visit and worked with each class. The children were delighted to improve their Rugby skills.

Junior and Senior Infants taking some time to relax and make music.

First and Second class enjoying yoga practice.
