Shanagolden National School
Shanagolden National School is a co-educational, Catholic, Primary School which strives to provide a well-ordered, caring, happy and secure atmosphere where the intellectual, spiritual, physical, moral and cultural needs of the pupils are identified and addressed.


Our School History
In the 1830s the Chief Secretary of Ireland Lord Stanley put in place a National Education system. Before this children were educated in fee-paying local Hedge Schools. In 1835 there were four Hedge Schools in Shanagolden.
